{Thirty-five} Raw butt

Virus’, teeth and diaper rash… oh my! This week stinks. My bottom hurts every time I piddle. My private parts are welted, blistery, swollen and red. From the top of my butt crack to my… well, you get the idea. Even that part had some issues. I probably needed medical attention it was so bad. The only good thing about it is I get a lot of baths and then get to hang out ‘el naturale. I had to drink a lot of Pedialyte and soy formula for a couple of days which helped. And then the snot started. Snot faucet. It was a bad week. But to quote my parents, “I’m still jolly”!
On a separate note you can also throw in an X-ray this week. I had to follow-up from my pulmonary doc visit from 6 wks ago.

{Thirty-four} Scoot Scoot Scoot

I figured out if I pull with this arm… and push with this foot… pick up some momentum… I can really get moving around pretty quick! But I have to wear pants all the time because my knees get sore. Rug burn. Dirt. Wood floor burn. And socks. I have two huge gross blisters on my big toe and side of my right foot. It’s my scooting foot!
We play a lot in my house. It seems like my room is the place to be. I’m happy there. Lots of good toys. And probably the most floor space. Well, my parents room has more space but their room is boring.

{Thirty-three} I learn a lot

I was thinking about the last month or so and all of the things I've learned. I've been sitting up unassisted for quite some time, I clap on demand, I find things I drop/lose, I can't crawl but I can definitely get to where I want to go, solid food, first sippy cup, I understand things that mumma says (like time for bath or "stand-up"). The list is pretty long which makes every day fun and adventure packed.

Physical therapy is not fun. It hurts, but I am still crooked. And last week my brother passed his virus to me. It was short lived but still stunk. I've also been peeing the bed at night but I think its because of my sleep position. Mumma says Brayden went through a phase like that too.

{Thirty-three} Tags

I eat tags. Tags on my bibs. If mumma doesn’t put a bib on me, I get angry. She doesn’t like to leave them on me because  a) they are ugly, and  b) I get them really soggy and nasty. It’s calming to me. Some kids have a security blankey, some kids have a paci, I have my tags. Don’t judge me. I also have to sleep with a blankey now. I like to snuggle and cuddle. And I give kisses. Well, I bit mumma’s lip the other day though.
We had a good week of giggles. Grandma and Papa Simone came over to watch us Saturday night. Then we celebrated Papa’s birthday Sunday. Mumma wouldn’t let grandma feed me ice cream.

{Thirty-two} First Fourth

Happy Independence Day to you! I wasn’t sure what that meant originally so I looked it up on Wikipedia. It was a pretty long read on the American Revolution but I thought this summed it up pretty good:

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States.
Since our vacation was a complete bust, my parents wanted to keep the long weekend low key. We did have some company over to meet me and I went swimming for the second time at Grandma and Grandpa Marchant’s at a pool party! I love water, and being the center of attention isn't so bad. I got passed around from guest to guest to guest and got lots of love. It was a little overwhelming with all those new faces so I wasn't quite being myself, but it was good once I took it all in.
